Campaign “Yiayia mou… thank you!”

ALAMBRA Dairy Products & ALFAMEGA Hypermarkets support the Cypriot grandmother

In a press conference held on March 28, International Grandmother’s Day, ALAMBRA Dairy Products company and ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets presented the annual campaign “Yiayia mou… thank you!”. The campaign is inspired by Grandmother Kakoullou, the creator of the recipe for success and the trademark of the ALAMBRA Dairy Industry and the products “ALAMBRA” and “The Grandma”.

With the aim of financially supporting institutions that host and care for elderly people, the campaign ” Yiayia mou… thank you!” was inaugurated in 2018 and since then returns every year to honour the contribution of all the grandmothers to the Cypriot society. With the valuable input of the consumers, the two partners have so far supported the work of six different institutions, offering the total amount of €30,000.

The goal for this year is to financially aid the multi-level work of the Community Volunteering Council (CVO) of the Kouri-Xylourikos Complex, and specifically the Elderly Services Program, which has been created to meet the needs of the residents of the 12 communities of the Complex (Alassa, Apaisia, Korfi, Limnati, Kapileio, Agios Mamas, Trimiklini, Laneia, Doros, Monagri, Agios Georgios and Sylikou). The specific program already implements two supportive social care services, the Home Distribution of Hot Meals and the Home Care Service, while the Transportation Service is now operating as a pilot for people with severe mobility and other difficulties.

During the press conference, the two partners invited the public to once again support the campaign, which will run from March 28 to May 8, at all ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets. In order to achieve the goals of the campaign, part of the revenue from the sales of the products Traditional Sheep Yoghurt 700g, Traditional Trimma, Traditional Halloumi and Anari of the “Giagia” line, will be allocated to support the Council’s important work.

The press conference was greeted by Mrs. Anastasia Natsika, Brand Manager of ALAMBRA Dairy Industry and Natasa Konstantinidou, Director of Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility ALFAMEGA Hypermarkets, who spoke about the goals of the campaign and the important role of the grandmother in society. Finally, Mr. Giorgos Georgiou, President of the Community Volunteering Council of Kouri-Xylourikou Complex welcomed the initiative and thanked the two partners for their valuable support.

The press conference was honoured with the presence of the partners of the ALAMBRA Dairy Industry and the ALFAMEGA Hypermarkets, as well as members of the media representatives.
